Well…..we made it to 2018 lol. As mentioned several times we have way too many positions in the Core Portfolio, and over the holidays, we have tried in vain to identify potential sells. We failed.
The Portfolio seems to be doing ok and we received a lot of dividend payments over the last week. We are just going to roll along, altho we will not be surprised at a pullback this month. But we ARE looking at new Buys. Right now there is no action but it is too difficult to track so many holdings. Scroll down for a new book suggestion. By the way, avoid the movie The Shape of Water: terrible.
Attention Trekkies: We saw this brand new book in the library which talks about all the tech that you see in the Star Trek series and how it is developing into the unbelievable products we see today. Fascinating: we suggest you get it. It looks like they are not even close to developing a real transporter….darn!!!!
Be amazed by 25 iconic pieces of tech from the Star Trek canon and the science behind how they function with Treknology. You will not believe how close we are to achieving some of them today.
Can our fucking corrupt government get any worse? It is reported that the US Post Office is losing money on every Amazon package they deliver….making Bezos even richer. Following is tweet from Trump:
Why is the United States Post Office, which is losing many billions of dollars a year, while charging Amazon and others so little to deliver their packages, making Amazon richer and the Post Office dumber and poorer? Should be charging MUCH MORE!
Trump shrinking GOV. We are FINALLY seeing staff cuts in the bloated government:
By the end of September, the federal government had 1.94 million permanent workers, down nearly 16,000 overall since the beginning of the year, according to the most recent OPM data. In the first nine months of 2009, Obama’s first year in office, the government added 68,000 permanent employees, growing to 1.84 million.
The last time federal employment dropped during a president’s first year, President Bill Clinton was in the White House.
The relatively small net decrease under Trump so far masks what has been a substantial drop-off in staffing at certain agencies.
