We sold numerous positions as rising interest rates became apparent back in the fourth quarter of 2016. Since the election we have added eight positions, two of which are Corporates. They are performing as expected.
So the Core Portfolio now has 48 INDIVIDUAL Corporate Bonds (we do NOT like corporate bond Funds) and 20 other bond and gold positions. We do not typically sell Corporates (preferring to hold to maturity) and they do not consume a lot of time. (We have four Corporates that were purchased ON SALE that are now showing very nice gains………and it is tempting to sell and take the profits.)
The remaining 20 holdings are watched closely and it would probably be a good idea to pare down this long list…but for now it’s ok.
We do have a buy limit order for SCQ at $25.30. This is a ‘get lucky’ order in that we will be lucky to get filled at this price: we do NOT anticipate that we will get filled. This is exchange traded debt: baby-bond.
