BUY GOV. HOLD OIL

It is becoming apparent that the oil collapse is a coordinated effort to hurt select oil producing nations, specifically Russia.

Now a collapse in oil prices – down 45% since June – has become primary cause of Russian pain. “This just looks ugly, period,” said Jonathan Anderson, of Emerging Advisors, in a recent note to clients.

Jacob Nell, of Morgan Stanley, said: “Since oil and gas account for 67% of Russia’s exports and 50% of federal budget revenues, oil prices drive the country’s economic cycle.”

This is great as we fill up our cars at cheap prices, but devastating for oil investors.  So what’s my point.  When ‘they’ have decided that sufficient harm has been inflicted on the targeted countries, oil will return to market pricing.  HOLD all oil positions and collect the dividends.

Do you remember this?……..

From July 2008 to December 2008, the price of a barrel of oil fell from $145 to $34 – a 77% plunge. Anyone trying to “pick a bottom” on the way down got crushed.

In December of last year, I suggested you buy GOV.  You can get GOV at a good price right now……….buy or add to positions…..I pasted the copy below:

There is a position that I suggest you look at.  Government Properties Trust (GOV) pays almost 7%.  I know you don’t want to hear anything about the government right now, but in this case, it’s a good thing.  Here is a short description of GOV from seekingalpha.com:

“GOV has a $1.7 billion investment portfolio (historical investment basis) with 84 properties in 31 states and Washington D.C. containing 10 million square feet. The tenant mix includes 34 U.S. Government agencies, 27 state government agencies and the United Nations. Around 94% of annualized rental income is paid by the U.S. Government, 10 state governments and the United Nations.”

Essentially GOV is a REIT that leases space to the government…….. and Uncle Sam pays his bills!!  I have owned GOV forever and I suggest buying up to 4% of your portfolio.  If you want more information, there are a number of good articles on seekingalpha.com which talk about GOV.
