SPY 1844.00  Go to “Investments Core Portfolio” for current holdings.

I have been taking a close gander at CVY, a multi asset etf. I talked about this category recently.

CVY is very interesting for readers of this blog because it holds 150 dividend payers that we talk about here all the time:  MLPs, REITs, trusts, preferreds, etal.  It does not include some categories that I like, but you can’t have everything.

CVY is appealing because you can easily own a basket of dividend payers with only one purchase.  Priced at $24.72, this is an excellent choice for anyone into dividend payers, especially for those with small portfolios.  You can buy a few shares to start and gradually add more…especially if we get pullbacks.  In any case a single position should hold no more than 4 to 5% of the portfolio….maximum.  Try to get at $24.50

It pays only 5.4% but that’s certainly better than a CD or money market fund.  Rated 4 stars by Morningstar.  Here is a link to the site.

In reviewing the markets, we are in earnings season.  And typically stocks go up.  Not always but usually.  As long as the FED continues to give free money to the banks (Quantitative Easing), we should see a continued upward bias.  But always keep in the back of your mind that someday all of this printing of money out of thin air will come to an end……..could be a year  two years who knows…..and that could be a real problem.

PFLT  Buying after January 17, 2014 ex-dividend.

Go to “HOME” (top of page) for the most current posts.  Go To “+FOLLOW” (top of page) to follow this blog.  Go to “INVESTMENTS” (top of this page) for core holdings.

This blog discusses dividend paying investments that I find appropriate for myself…..and for investors seeking dividends and income.  I am not an investment professional.  You must do your own research before buying any position.  All gains or losses that you realize are based on your choices.
