This blog provides comments and thoughts on the financial markets and specifically—dividend producing investments.
(Update November 2013; A risk position that bombed. If you have a small position hold to collect the dividends until you break even, and then sell. There is no reason to sell now and take a loss. It is possible this dog will turn around….who knows.)
(Update September 2013. A very risky play that has turned bad. If you own it hold on for a potential turnaround. Otherwise stay away. A classic example of enticing dividends that pull in investors while the stock tanks.)
CVRR is getting my attention. This is a Master Limited Partnership MLP that pays 20% Yes that’s right: 20%.
This is obviously risky and only suitable for a tiny portion of your speculative money….there is a possibility you could lose a significant part of the invested money.
Here is copy from their website: “CVR Refining’s petroleum business includes a 115,000 barrel per day complex full coking, medium-sour crude oil refinery operated by Coffeyville Resources Refining & Marketing in Coffeyville, Kan., a 70,000 barrel per day medium complexity crude oil refinery operated by Wynnewood Refining Company in Wynnewood, Okla., approximately 350 miles of pipelines, more than 125 crude oil transports, a network of strategically located crude oil gathering.”
(Update May 21: Consolidating OK to BUY $30.49–but you may be able to get at lower prices if you wait . Very small amount to start.)
(May 15, 2013 Update: This thing is tanking. Hold off on buying..will buy at lower prices.)
Current price is $30.45. Try and buy around $30.00 within the next few days. I plan on holding but if the price jumps dramatically I will sell for a profit.
