This blog provides comments and thoughts on the financial markets and specifically—dividend producing investments.

(Update May:  The fund manager says he planning to close this fund to new investors in late 2013.  BUY NOW) (Also check out their new fund.  Click Here)

And check out yet another new fund from DoubleLine.

Go to “Investments Core Portfolio” for current holdings.

All of the good nationally known financial advisors out there (which does NOT include the talking head quacks on CNBC) recommend DLTNX.  Here is a sample of the reviews that you read:

“”Jeffrey Gundlach (the manager of the fund) has been called the “new bond king” by Bloomberg BusinessWeek.  While we are not sure if the old bond king (Bill Gross) would agree, institutional investors are flocking to DoubleLine.  As Gundlach is an owner of DoubleLine, and at 52 a relatively young man, he will probably be managing the DoubleLine Total Return Bond Fund for next 10 to 20 years.””

DLTNX is a core holding and should be owned by anyone reading this blog.  SO…what’s my issue with the fund?

It pays only 5 to 6% per year.  Yes it’s better than a CD and it’s not the type of low paying investments that I typically like.  (I do own DLTNX)  But if you are conservative and want safety, you cannot do any better than DLTNX.  Google DLTNX and learn more about the advantages of owning this fund.  Buy up to 4% of the portfolio.
